Terms of Service

Effective 10 September 2026 Last updated 10 September 2026 Version 1.0

These terms are the agreement between you and HERE for using the HERE app. HERE introduces you to people nearby for simple real-world plans. It is a tool for making introductions — not a promise about anyone you meet. Please read section 5 on meeting people and section 7 on HERE+.

1Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using HERE, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. If you use HERE on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

2Who can use HERE

You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter this agreement. You must not be barred from using the service under the laws of your country, and you must not have been previously removed from HERE for a serious violation.

4Acceptable use

Our Community Guidelines (shown in the app) are part of these terms. In addition, you agree not to:

5Meeting people

Important

HERE introduces people. It does not verify identity, run background checks, or vouch for anyone. You are responsible for your own decisions about who to meet and how. Meet in public places, at least the first time; tell someone where you are going; and leave any situation that feels wrong.

Our safety features — approximate location, blocking, reporting, and private post-meeting check-ins — reduce risk but do not remove it. HERE is not responsible for the conduct of any user, online or in person.

6Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, text, and other content you add to HERE. You grant HERE a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for example, re-encoding a photo), and display that content solely to operate and improve the service — for instance, showing your profile to people you could meet. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained as described in the Privacy Policy or required by law, and for content others have already saved or shared outside HERE.

You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to post it. We may remove content that breaks these terms or the Community Guidelines, and we may check profile photos automatically before they are shown to others.

8Moderation & enforcement

We review reports and may act on content or accounts that break these terms or the Community Guidelines. Depending on severity, that can mean a warning, removing content, limiting features, suspending an account, or permanent removal. A single report does not by itself decide an outcome. Account-level decisions can be appealed by contacting us (section 15).

9Suspension & termination

You can stop using HERE and delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete my account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially or repeatedly break these terms, if required by law, or if your use creates risk or legal exposure for HERE or others. Where practical and lawful, we will give notice. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — content licence tail, disclaimers, indemnity, and governing law — continue to apply.

10Disclaimers

HERE is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any introduction will lead to a meeting, or that any person is who they claim to be. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HERE and its team from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the service, your conduct toward other users, or your breach of these terms — except to the extent the claim results from HERE’s own wrongdoing.

12Changes

We may update these terms as the product and the law change. For material changes we will update the date above and notify you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using HERE after that, you accept the new terms; if you do not agree, delete your account.

13Governing law

HERE is operated by Ethmane Didi, based in Norway. These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the Norwegian courts have exclusive jurisdiction — except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally. Nothing in these terms removes a non-waivable statutory right you have as a consumer.

14App Store terms

These terms are between you and HERE only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation for the app, and any claims relating to the app — product liability, legal or regulatory non-compliance, consumer protection — are HERE’s responsibility, not Apple’s. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated a “terrorist-supporting” country, and that you are not on any US Government restricted-parties list. Your use of the app must also comply with the App Store Terms of Service.
